Rep. Gill Files Impeachment Articles Against Judge Boasberg Following Arctic Frost Scandal

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Brandon Gill (TX-26) today introduced articles of impeachment against James E. Boasberg, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, for his abuse of judicial authority used to target conservative Members of Congress, organizations, and patriotic Americans.

“Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis,” said Rep. Gill. “He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents—including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction.”

“Judge Boasberg was an accomplice in the egregious Arctic Frost scandal where he equipped the Biden DOJ to spy on Republican senators,” Rep. Gill continued. “His lack of integrity makes him clearly unfit for the gavel. I am proud to once again introduce articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg to hold him accountable for his high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Judge Boasberg facilitated Special Counsel Jack Smith FBI’s project Arctic Frost, which spied on Republican Senators Marsha Blackburn, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, Bill Hagerty, Josh Hawley, Ron Johnson, Cynthia Lummis, Rick Scott, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, and Representative Mike Kelly.

Background:

  • Chief Judge Boasberg was appointed by former President Obama.

  • On March 18, 2025, Congressman Brandon Gill introduced articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg for blocking President Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act. This executive action had set into motion the deportation of violent criminal illegal aliens, including gang members from Tren de Aragua and MS-13. In doing so, Boasberg usurped the Executive’s constitutional authority, going so far as to order midair flights to turn around and return violent foreign gangsters to American soil.
