PRESS RELEASE: Rep. Gill Bill Abolishes Globalist Climate Organization
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Brandon Gill (R-TX) today introduced a bill to abolish the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), a wasteful office that failed to deliver meaningful results for the American people and instead acted as a vehicle for the Biden Administration’s globalist climate agenda.
“President Trump has called for an end to the Green New Scam and the globalist climate agenda that has thrived for the past four years under Democrat rule,” said Rep. Gill. “Now, in the Golden Age, we are unleashing American energy production. OCED is a wasteful, ineffective office that has squandered billions, which is why I’m introducing legislation that would permanently shut it down.”
President Trump’s Department of Energy’s budget request completely eliminates funding for OCED. Rep. Gill’s OCED Elimination Act supports this action by repealing Section 41201 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the statutory authority establishing OCED.
"Representative Gill’s OCED Elimination Act is a critical step toward ending wasteful government spending and restoring energy freedom. The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) has funneled billions into unnecessary projects such as a $179.9 million grant to Kraft Heinz to lower ketchup factory emissions, crowding out private investment and fueling subsidy schemes. This bill continues President Trump’s agenda to drain the swamp and restore accountability," said Paul Winfree, President and CEO, Economic Policy Innovation Center.
